PHILADELPHIA PREMIERE
Boldly fusing hip-hop dance battles, romance, and a cross-section of youth culture in contemporary Vietnam, Saigon Electric is a film bursting with energy, showcasing a strong, youthful artistic presence in the global metropolis of Saigon.

Spending considerable time searching for the best underground talent in Vietnam, director Stephane Gauger’s team assembled a cast of vibrant new faces that lend authenticity to its representation of youth culture. Bestowed with awe-inspiring visuals and effervescent editing, Saigon Electric transcends its considerable technical achievements and astounding hip-hop choreography to fulfill Gauger’s primary wish: “To give teenagers a voice and present to an international audience a fresh new look at the dreams and struggles of Asian youth.”
